Finally, in 1946, she was able to emigrate to the United States. Her mother, Flora and sister, Edith, survived the war and were reunited with her in 1947 in New York. Suse kept in touch with the Parry family in England and Elaine has continues this important connection.
Elaine lives in Seattle and is a recently retired certified Speech and Language Pathologist. Elaine and her husband, Alan, have traveled to view many of the locations associated with Suse’s story. Elaine now tells this story to keep her mother’s legacy of survival alive.
