In Forced to Flee, we bear witness to the memories, struggles and dreams of youth forced to flee violent conflict and persecution in Burma, also known as Myanmar. The visual stories in this exhibit illustrate that emotions conveyed and evoked by a single narrative image can tell a story of a thousand words, open hearts and build bridges for understanding.

The exhibit was curated by Seattle resident Erika Berg who facilitates visual storytelling workshops in all too often marginalized and misunderstood communities, including refugee communities from war-torn countries around the world. Forced to Flee won the 2016 Indie Book Award for Social Change.  PLAN YOUR VISIT
