This professional development session will introduce educators to best practices for teaching about the Holocaust and other hard histories through ELA and Social Studies. This session invites educators to re-examine their approach to teaching difficult histories by establishing brave classrooms, focusing on the foundation of identity, and providing tools to ground these histories in the historical context necessary to understand them. Participants will gain access to classroom lesson plans for implementing these concepts in their Holocaust curriculum.
