Kacrna Saron Khut

Saron was born in Cambodia where he lived with his family. His family, like many others, became victims of the Khmer Rouge.

Saron and his family were victims of the systematic persecution and killing of Cambodian citizens under the leadership of Communist Party General Secretary, Pol Pot.

Between 1975 and 1979, the Khmer Rouge subjected Cambodians to forced labor, persecution, and execution. Almost 2 million people were killed.

Both of his parents were taken to forced labor camps. Saron managed to re-unite with his parents, and they fled the country. The family spent time in refugee camps in Thailand, and finally was able to come to the United States.

Saron is currently a resident of Portland, Oregon. He is a business owner and member of the community
